Tours of local model shops and sites of interest are the reason why our Conferences are located

in different parts of the country. There's really no other way to get an up-close, behind-the-scenes look

at these amazing locations. Though they're considered "optional" tours, we think they're essential!

TOURS 2018

FRIDAY, March 16th

Tour A - Steelcase and Meyer May House -

For over 105 years, Steelcase Inc. has helped create great experiences for the world's leading organizations, across industries. We demonstrate this through our family of brands - including Steelcase®, Coalesse®, Designtex®, PolyVision® and Turnstone®. Together, they offer a comprehensive portfolio of architecture, furniture and technology products and services designed to unlock human promise and support social, economic, and environmental sustainability. We are globally accessible through a network of channels, including over 800 dealer locations. Steelcase is a global, industry-leading, and publicly traded company with fiscal 2017 revenue of $3.0 billion.

The Steelcase tour will cover our Worklife center and executive community, and a first ever tour of the Model Shop and Test Lab. Our second tour stop will be a guided walk through the meticulously restored Meyer May House, where you'll experience an original Prairie house as world-renown architect Frank Lloyd Wright envisioned it.

Tour B - Herman Miller and Gerald R Ford Museum - With a 108-year-old history, Herman Miller, originally the Michigan Star Furniture Company, has become synonymous with "modern" furniture. We will visit the model shop and see first hand why the company's products become classics of industrial design. Next, we'll visit the Gerald R. Ford Museum where the museum's staff will guide you through the processes and methods of preserving and exhibiting thousands of artifacts relating to our nation's 38th President.

MONDAY, March 19th

Tour C - Amway Corporation and Kendall College of Art and Design - Founded in Ada, Michigan in 1959, the Amway Corporation has earned the title of "World's Number-One-Direct Selling Company" and makes and delivers 450 nutrition, home, and beauty products. We'll go behind-the-scenes with this product development giant to learn how they utilize model making in their innovative products. Then, we'll visit the Kendall College of Art and Design at Ferris State University where more than 1200 students study sculpture, metals and jewelry design, furniture, industrial and collaborative design.
