Point of Purchase Display Company is seeking an Experienced Model Maker to work in our West Palm Beach, FL location.
The position reports directly to the Pre-Production Supervisor and is responsible for building working display prototypes from sketches and engineering drawings. The position will also support the management and training of the Pre-Production team.
Responsibilities & Functions:
Bringing a product from concept through design, prototyping, development, testing, design verification and validation to manufacturing and display introduction at retailer.
Determine materials and equipment needs as well as plans assembly by studying work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
Utilize manual equipment for fabricating models, prototypes, test parts and low volume production of custom displays.
Test parts for compliance to specifications and shop-ability in store.
Maintain records of project progress
Trains, directs and helps troubleshoot projects to maintain quality according to company’s guidelines and client’s specifications.
Interfaces daily with Pre-Production supervisor to prioritize work load and adhere to timelines.
Communicate status and any conditions that may jeopardize the quality or delivery of the prototype.
Responsible for planning and implementing activities related to material control.
Verify that all incoming material shipments are thoroughly inspected prior to beginning the job.
Ensure all shipments meet customer requirements and expected delivery dates by coordinating ship date requirements with the production and logistics departments.
Responsible for safe work environment and operations.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
