Hi APMMers,

Hope all is well for everyone!

Headquartered in Somerville, MA with offices in Toronto, Jerusalem, Singapore and Shanghai to support ongoing projects, Safdie Architects is constantly engaged in the design of a diverse range of projects in terms of building type, scale and geographic location and almost every single projects require scale models. And with one of our world-class senior model maker out of the three (there are five model makers in the model shop) is retiring soon, we are looking for an experienced architectural model maker to join the team.

Some of Safdie Architects' internationally renowned projects are the Marina Bay Sands and Jewel Changi in Singapore and Yad Vashem Holocaust History Museum in Israel. You can find out more about Safdie Architects from our website here https://www.safdiearchitects.com/

Often, you will be working with multiple design teams simultaneously on different tasks in our often fast-paced, iterative design process. As such, you will be expected to schedule and prioritize between a variety of efforts and deadlines.

Some of the skills, qualities and interests we are looking for include
  • 5 years minimum experience as a model maker
  • Experience building architectural models is a must
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Autocad, Rhino and Revit.
  • Machine tool and hand fabrication experience

  • Experience operating a laser cutter andor 3D printer is a plus
  • Authorization to work in the United States and preferably from the Boston area

Thank you and take care!
