A unique opportunity for someone with experience as a Model Maker or someone who has automotive spray painting experience to join SharkNinja in our Rapid Prototype Lab, producing a flawless paint job on our prototype models. The Paint Shop Technician will be responsible for the sanding, finishing and painting of 3D printed plastic parts. The painted parts are then assembled into high quality appearance models. Qualified candidates must have a good understanding of the tools and techniques used in the application of automotive paints and finishes or model maker painting experience. You will enjoy working in fast paced, team environment, geared to meeting tight deadlines. You are detailed orientated and able to prioritize tasks to meet daily project milestones.
Responsibilities:
Surface preparation of parts, sanding, filling, priming and masking of parts.
Works with various automotive paints and urethane top coats.
Mix paints with appropriate additives as required for proper spraying viscosity.
Spray paint parts to color specifications provided.
Color matching of paints to sample parts.
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of spray booth.
Mechanically inclined and able to disassemble and assemble painted parts.
Operates light power tools and specialty equipment.
Inspect parts and checks for runs or sags in the paint.
Follows health and safety standards.
Submit orders for paint and supplies with vendors.
Keep spray equipment and paint room properly cleaned and stocked with supplies.
Qualifications:
High school or vocational school diploma
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience spraying automotive paints or relevant experience
Basic computer skills/MS Office helpful
Good communication skills required, verbal and written
