Absolutely! That's exactly what the donor had in mind! Feel free to share.

Permission to share this with a friend in Chicago who runs a department at the Chicago Art Institute?
He might be interested, or know of a maker space who is.

I am looking to sell (or donate to a makerspace or educational organization) my late father's shop equipment. My father was a professional model maker his entire life, working with Chicago area manufacturers creating prototype parts primarily in the food production industry. (He got his start with Inland Steel and later in the research division of Sinclair Oil. Some of his later projects included prototype hamburger patty production for Burger King and McDonald's, jar/lid packaging equipment for CPC International and Kraft.) He was a master artisan. The equipment is in excellent condition and has been standing untouched in his shop for several years -- the property is being sold and the machinery needs to be further cared for and put to good use.
Please find attached pictures of the larger pieces of equipment. It is currently located in his basement shop in a private home in south suburban Chicago. Any direction you can give to help us find a good home for these pieces would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Patti Mikes
